HLTAID011 Provide first aid
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers or volunteers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. This unit of competency must be updated every 3 years and the CPR component must be updated every 12 months to remain current.

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers or volunteers who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. This course is also part of both the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid unit of competency and HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an Education and care setting unit of competency.

HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children, and adults. The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency must be updated every 3 years and the CPR component must be updated every 12 months to remain current.

Physical Requirements

• Performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
• Performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface. -
CPR is carried out in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation guidelines:
Additionally, the CPR practical demonstration is physically demanding, and we actively encourage all potential students to discuss any concerns with our enrolment officer prior to enrolling in the course and trainer on the day of the assessment

Multiple choice quiz – completed online prior to face-to-face session. The certificate must be printed out and bought in to your face-to-face session.
Students completing HLTAID012 will receive an additional multiple-choice quiz in their email that also needs to be completed and bought into class
