Palliative approach skill set

This skill set is for people working in various care and support roles in the community services industry who wish to develop skills in supporting people who require palliative care. This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in an area involving provision of direct client care or support.

Practical placement, as explained by the Victorian Department of Education and Training, is structured workplace learning that provides students with first hand experience and on the job, training relating to their course. It is an opportunity for students to implement the skills they are learning about, gain confidence with their future role within their chosen industry and develop their job-related skills. This skill set has a 40 hour of placement requirement.
