Overview

The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability) is a nationally recognised qualification for those that are seeking employment or wish to become qualified in the aged care, disability, or home and community care industry.

Graduates would be responsible in following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to individuals and will be required to use discretion and judgement in relation to their role. By the completion of this qualification, graduates will have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, along with some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices that are required to provide person-centred support.

This course is ideal for those looking to enter into the aged care industry or disability services.

Upon completion of this qualification, candidates may seek to enrol into a higher qualification within a similar discipline.

Some examples of this is the Certificate IV in Ageing Support, Certificate IV Disability, Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, or the Diploma of Nursing.


Modes of Study

Full Time

Full-time face to face classroom and practicum-based course

Duration: 8 - 9 -months

Classes: 2 days per week (9:30am – 3:00pm)

Online

Attend online classes with your allocated trainer

Duration: 12 - 18 months

Classes: 1 night per week

Distance Based

Study at your own pace online with the support of an allocated trainer

Students must submit a minimum of 1 unit per month

Duration: 12 - 18 months

traineeship

Learn on the job while studying with the support of an allocated trainer

Duration: 1 - 2 years

All modes of study require students to complete practical placement throughout the duration of the course.

We will arrange a practical placement host employer for all students (except traineeship students as they utilise their work hours for this)
