  • Ned - Ceo

    Ned has been part of the FYI Training story since day one. From supporting the start-up of the business in 2007, from working in Accounts & HR. Now the sole owner of FYI Training, Ned is super passionate about helping people. With a professional background in Armoured Security, he took on role of General Manager in 2011. Focused on seeing students succeed, completing their course, getting employment, undertaking further studies, building their confidence and self-esteem.

    Ned is very passionate about helping others and by the impact a good education can have on peoples’ lives. He is passionate about trying to help those who, through no fault of their own, may find themselves in difficult situations or trying times.

    When not at work we can find Ned spending time with his family, playing and coaching basketball. As well as watching as much sports & AFL possible.

    What’s the best part about working at FYI?

    Seeing the positive impact FYI Education & Training is having on students’ lives. Being able to share this with our staff and trainers who are all also extremely passionate about what they do. Having students return and hear their stories about how much their lives have changed/improved after completing their qualifications and finding employment.

  • Amanda - Compliance & General Manager

    Amanda has been working in the early childhood industry for 20 years and has been teaching and assessing in Early childhood education and care for over 10 years. As of 2019 Amanda also became the Compliance and Training managing role for FYI Education and Training and assists with ensuring all regulations and policies are adhered to.

    Amanda is passionate about providing a high quality educational experience for students from all walks of life and believes that at FYI training everyone has the opportunity to learn and become qualified in an industry they are passionate about.

    When not at work we can find Amanda doing landscape photography, spending time with the people she loves most and reading.’

    What’s the best part about working at FYI?

    I love meeting new students and seeing the excitement when they have completed their course and have found employment in their field. The confidence and passion students leave FYI Education & Training with gives me a sense of fulfilment that we have done our jobs right and we were apart of that success.

  • Andrea - Trainer & Placement Coordinator

    Andrea has been working in the Early Childhood Education and Care industry for 15 years and has been training and assessing for the past several years. 

    Andrea is passionate about providing children with an inclusive environment at a high quality level. And loves seeing the students strive and develop as confident and amazing early childhood educators. 

    What’s the best part about working at FYI?

    Favourite part about working at FYI, too much to note, Ned and Amanda are so supportive the team that we have at FYI Training are inspiring, full of knowledge that is shared with the students and trainers, having such a positive environment to be in. Seeing the students succeed and starting their career as they become qualified.

    Nan has over 10 years of experience working as an early childhood educator and has been Teaching and assessing Early childhood education and care for past 10 years.

    Nan is passionate about developing confidence in students, especially those from non English speaking background by educating, training, mentoring and sharing my success story with them.

  • Colleen - Trainer/Assessor

    Colleen has worked in aged care for 23 years starting off as a personal care worker and cook. During these times Colleen noticed that the residents were needing a more active lifestyle so she studied to become a Diversional Therapist and a lifestyle co-ordinator which she remained doing until retirement. To keep her skills updated she volunteers at a facility 1 day a fortnight.

    When Colleen is not working she is usually at home with my husband or babysitting one or two of her 10 grandchildren.

    What’s the best part about working at FYI?

    The thing I enjoy working for FYI is that I am able to teach students a passion for working and supporting other people and knowing that I am sending out carers that want to be in these fields. I am encouraged and supported at all times from Ned and others with my passion for teaching others. I hope to be able to continue with this work as there is a great need for good and passionate workers in this industry.

  • Neil - Trainer/Assessor

    Neil is our First Aid trainer at FYI with a long-standing background in First Aid and Fire Fighting. Neil’s background includes 13 years as a fire fighter and 13 years as a volunteer with Red Cross emergency services doing First Aid. He also started his own business with his wife in 2009 doing first aid training and small fire training. He has spent 20 years attending horse show jumping events to provide first aid to riders and the public.

    Neil is passionate about First Aid training and keeping it simple. When not at work we can find Neil at home or taking his dog for a walk but in the warmer weather away with the caravan.

    What’s the best part about working at FYI?

    It is like being a part of a big family.

  • Sarah - Trainer/Assessor

    Sarah has over 15 years experience in the early childhood field working as an assistant, room leader, 2IC and centre manager.

    “I was originally a Student of FYI in 2014 I studied my certificate 4 Training & Assessment. I was then a Manager of a service which worked closely with FYI holding students placements. Having an understanding of FYI’s Ethics made the change into training a lot smoother then expected as well as the great culture the company has.”

    Sarah is most passionate about early childhood Educators going into the industry with the highest of skills and understanding to be the best teachers for our younger generations. To be able to empower them and support their development in the best way possible.

    When she’s not at FYI Sarah spends time with her two kids, husband and dog, who is her third child. She loves weekends away and catching up with friends and family making plenty of memories together.

    What’s the best part about working at FYI?

    The environment, watching learners come and then leave with so much knowledge and friendships built, the achievement you see in the students each and every week, the flexibility and the work life balance which for my family is so important.
