New Year New Goals: How to set goals for 2022
If you can dream it – you can do it.
With the new year approaching it’s a good time to reflect and set some goals for 2022.
Top Goal Setting Tips: Plan out goals “SMART GOALS”
What are the five SMART goals?
The SMART acronym outlines a strategy for reaching any objective. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and anchored within a Time Frame.
Example:
- Start by stating what you want in simple terms and try add specific information that is easy to measure with realistic time frames mentioned.
- Example: “I want to study a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care in 2022 and complete within the next 12 months”
- “I want to set 30mins aside everyday to spend on my hobbies next year”
Once you have set the goals out, keeping a goal journal can help keep you checking in on the progress I suggest weekly!
Tips to hold yourself accountable: set goals that are tangible but still motivational so that you can realistically achieve progress and keep yourself moving.
Goal inspiration:
“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” —Pablo Picasso
“You have to set goals that are almost out of reach. If you set a goal that is attainable without much work or thought, you are stuck with something below your true talent and potential.” —Steve Garvey
“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” - Tony Robbins
“The only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”– Michelle Obama
"Impossible is just a word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." – Muhammad Ali
“We think, mistakenly, that success is the result of the amount of time we put in at work, instead of the quality of time we put in.” - Arianna Huffington
